Allegany High Marching Band
tops in Pennsylvania competition ENOLA,
Pa. The Allegany High School Marching Band
took top honors Saturday at the Artistry
in Cadence Band Competition held at East
Pennsboro High School. Allegany performed
in Group III for bands with 56 to 80 performers.
The band took first place with a score of
91.5. The bands score was also the highest
overall for the day. The band received specialty
awards for best drum major, best auxiliary
(color guard), high marching and high music.
The 2003 field show is titled Ballet Mechanique.
The band will perform at the Chapter 13
Championships being held on Saturday at
Greenway Avenue Stadium. The band is under
the direction of Larry T. Jackson, assisted
by Brian T. White. The 2003 drum major is
senior Sarah Dean.
