Ballet Mechanique

The Allegany High School Marching Band is proud to present its 2003 field show, "Ballet Mechanique". The show will make illusion to a mechanical, obtuse, modern world, using the music of 20th century American composers George Anteil and Samuel Barber. The show will feature musical and visual interpretations that display ballet-like-movements using mechanical vs. fluid as a central idea.

The show's music will be arranged by Mr. Larry Jackson, Director, Mr. John Louthian, Technical Advisor and Mr. Matt Growden, Technical Advisor. The show uses material and concepts that have never been done on the field before and should prove to be very creative, unusual, and dfferent.

Through the years the Allgany Band has been the recipient of many awards for their marching and musical excellence. The Allegany Marching Band is the reigning Chapter 13 champion of the last three years, has captured six state championships in the last seven years and has finished the last five seasons at the Atlantic Coast Championships as a gold meal finalist band, placing in the top five each year. The Allegany High School Marching Band is under the direction of Larry Jackson.
